Learning at Home

If you want to look at previous year's STAAR tests, google "TEA STAAR released", and it will take you to all the STAAR tests from previous years.  For math review, please only use the 2015 Math test, since the TEKS (what teachers have to teach in each grade) changed in 2014.

Istation reading will be up and running soon, and we will be using it lots then! We also use epic on the ipads - each child has an individual account in my class.  While the program is free for educators, it does cost for parents, BUT you can get a 30 day free trial at home!

Here are some free websites that your children can use at home to extend their learning. If you have any questions about any of them, or would like some more options, please contact me (254)744-7077.

Spelling City - you can play lots of games with spelling words - simply input our spelling list and play hangman, crossword puzzles, word jumbles and more!

Wacky Web Tales - this site is like a mad libs in grammar review! Students type in nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc., and create funny stories!

Free Training Tutorials - click on the link on the left that says "Math Games".  This site has free math games covering every single 3rd grade objective!

Mr. Nussbaum - free reading, math, and science review games

MrsRuss.com - this site has TONS of educational games for kids in all subject areas

Super Teacher Worksheets - this website has worksheets for every subject - some require a paid subscription, but a lot are free

STAAR Prep - This website has tons of test prep for ALL  grades (K-5).  It's in a STAAR format, and includes Reading, Math, Writing (for 4th grade), and Science (for 5th grade).  This is, without a doubt, the BEST test prep site out there.

Hope this is helpful! I'll add more sources as the year progresses!
